Atlantic Monthly, The
Publicación mensual de literatura y opinión, una de las revistas estadounidenses más antiguas y respetadas.

Fue fundada en 1857 por Moses Dresser Phillips y se edita en Boston. Se destacó pronto por la calidad de su creación literaria y sus artículos de interés general, gracias a las colaboraciones de destacados autores y editores como James Russell Lowell, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry W. Longfellow y Oliver Wendell Holmes. A comienzos de la década de 1920, la publicación amplió su ámbito al comentario político, e incluyó artículos de figuras como Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson y Booker T. Washington. En la década de 1970, los elevados costos estuvieron al borde de provocar el cierre de la revista, la que finalmente fue comprada por Mortimer B. Zuckerman, en 1980, y vendida en 1999 al National Journal Group.
